Tewke Tap One Wins 2026 Red Dot: Best of the Best Award for Groundbreaking Design

Tewke is proud to announce that Tewke Tap One has been awarded the 2026 Red Dot Design Award: Best of the Best, the highest distinction in the Red Dot Award: Design Concept category.

The award recognises Tap One for its groundbreaking design, placing it among the most outstanding design concepts selected from scores of entries from around the world. For Tewke, the award marks a significant milestone in the company's journey and follows its success at the 2024 Red Dot Design Concept Awards, when the original Tewke Tap was recognised.

Just two years after the original Tap received its Red Dot Design Concept award, Tap One has taken the next step by securing the category's top honour. The achievement reflects the evolution of both the product and the Tewke team behind it.

Technology made to fit naturally into everyday life.

Tap One has been designed around a simple principle, that the home should work around you, quietly and beautifully. For Tewke, this isn't about adding technology for technology's sake. It's about using thoughtful design to make technology feel natural, creating products that fit into people's homes and lives rather than demanding attention.

“We believe good technology should make life simpler, not more complicated,” said Piers Daniell, Founder and CEO of Tewke. “Tap One embodies that belief. We are incredibly proud that the Red Dot jury has recognised the design thinking and hard work that has gone into creating it, and particularly proud to receive Best of the Best after the original Tap's Red Dot success in 2024.”

Tewke Tap One is designed to feel less like technology and more like a natural part of the home, quietly making everyday life simpler. Rather than hiding smart functionality behind a phone or filling rooms with multiple devices, Tap One is designed to provide an intuitive, simple, single point of interaction. It reflects Tewke's wider philosophy that intelligent technology should quietly improve everyday life.

“The home should work around you, quietly and beautifully. That shouldn’t be a luxury. It's just good design.”, Daniell added.

From award-winning concept to real-world product.

The Red Dot recognition comes as Tap One moves from design concept towards becoming a product in customers' homes. More than 700 Tap Ones have already been pre-ordered by customers around the world through Kickstarter, demonstrating strong interest in Tewke's vision for a simpler, more beautifully designed smart home.

With production and fulfilment now the team's focus, Tewke is working towards shipping Tap One to its Kickstarter backers. The team is particularly grateful to everyone who has backed, supported and believed in Tap One as it moves from concept to reality.

For Tewke, however, the award is not the destination. It’s recognition of a design philosophy that sits at the heart of the company's ambition, to make smart simple. Creating technology that makes homes more intelligent, more energy efficient and better places to live, without making them more complicated.
