Tewke Unveils Tap Light Switch at Exclusive Launch Event

Tap, the intelligent light switch designed to work in any home, is Tewke’s first product, and first stepping stone on our journey to improving home environments for people all around the world. After four years of research and development, Tap is finally ready to be unveiled and installed in a limited number of homes, as part of Tap Preview, a program designed to test the product in real life situations, helping gain invaluable user feedback and data.

Piers Daniell, the founder of Tewke, kicked the evening off with a keynote presentation, outlining the company’s mission, and providing insight into Tap’s features and capabilities. Tewke believes that small tweaks to our every day habits can have a massive impact on energy consumptions not only within our homes, but also on a national and global scale.

This is why Tap is more than just a light switch. Outside of enabling lighting control and automation in any home, Tap also provides insights into energy usage habits and home health, helping people better understand and improve their home environment through personalised analysis and recommendations.

After the presentation, and a successful demo, the guests were invited to try Tap out for themselves. The attendees were encouraged to interact with a number of devices scattered across the room, testing out the capabilities and limits of what Tap can do. This was the first opportunity for us to gather feedback, opinions and thoughts from such a large group of people, helping us understand what people love about Tap, where the real pain points lie, and why a change in home energy systems is needed.

The launch event marks the official release of Tap. If you want to be one of the first to try out the device in your home, make sure to sign up for the waiting list now. We are expecting to start shipping a limited number of products in coming months, so don’t miss out on an opportunity to be one of the people helping shape the future of home automation.
