Can I configure Tewke Tap in a 2-way switch set-up?

Yes, Tewke Tap can be used to replace or even create a new 2-way switch set-up.

Yes, Tewke Tap can be used to replace or even create a new 2-way switch set-up.

Tap handles this through our software rather than traditional wiring, which means that only one of the Taps needs to be physically wired to the lighting circuit you want to control.

How you set up the additional Taps depends on your home's wiring:

  • If you have a neutral wire: Wire one of the Taps to the light you want to control. The additional Taps only need to be connected to Live and Neutral for their power, they don't need to be wired to a lighting circuit at all.

  • If you don't have a neutral wire: Taps in no-neutral setups need to be wired to a lighting circuit to stay powered. Wire one of the Taps to the light you want to control. Any additional Tap must be wired to a different dimmable lighting circuit (for example, the primary Tap is wired to the landing lights, while the second Tap is wired to the hallway lights).

Once your Taps are installed and powered on, you can simply link them together in the Tewke app to control the exact same lights.
